Marx vind ik, qua uiterlijk dan, het meest op God lijken. Dat is vreemd, want van God zijn (nog) geen foto's bekend. Bovendien wordt Zijn bestaan al geruime tijd in twijfel getrokken. Er zijn natuurlijk wel afbeeldingen van deze wraakzuchtige mensenvriend, zoals die door de grote kunstenaar M. in de Sixtijnse Kapel. Goed, baardmannen fascineren me. De baardman waar het híer-en-nu om gaat is natuurlijk Charles Darwin. Hij zou vandaag zijn tweehonderdste verjaardag hebben gevierd (iets wat in onze eeuw waarschijnlijk écht zal kunnen). Charles kon zelf niet geloven dat de mensch niet door God zou zijn geschapen. Maar hij was een wetenschapper. Hij moest wel.

Marx find I, with regard to the appearance, ressembles most on God. That is peculiar, because photographs of God are (still) unknown. Moreover, His existance has been doubted for a long time already. There are, however, images showing this vindictive philantropist, such as those by the great artist M. in the Sistine Chapel. Well allright, barbus fascinate me. The bearded man concerning this very moment of course is Charles Darwin. Today he would have been celebrated his bicentennial (something what in our time probably will become real). Charles himself could not believe that 'the mensch' should not be created by God. But he was a scientist. He had to.
